The most relaxing day of our weekliong visit. The photographs of the children with the dolphins were priceless! A bonus we were not aware of is your ID badge is also good for admission to Sea World and Aquatica so if you are planning to visit either of these parks, the cost for discovery cove is even more of a bargain. The only complaint was that one of photographers took several pictures of our party and people were cut off in each picture (your initial photograph is also included). Two of the children did the dolphin encounter with a small group. In one section several large sharks swim behind an invisable plexiglass barreir. Schools of colorful salt water fish are everywhere. There are large and small manta rays, some 6-8 feet across. Although the reef is manmade, it is easy to forget that this is not a natural environment. For special needs that require a specific timeframe, please call reservations at 40 at least 24 hours in advance.

We have snorkled Puerto Morales Mexico, Cancun, Hawaii and love the "natural" environment but here the water is clear and the fish are abundant. Discovery Cove is a full day adventure with waterways open from 9:00 a.m. The highlight for us was the salt water snorkleing. The freshwater river alows floating thorugh warious areas of the park and has birds and otters to watch. In another area an African tortise was walking on the walkway being hand fed by an attendant. The attendants are knowledgeable about the different speciesof birds in each area and it was great to see them up close. We spend over 2 hours feeding the birds, having them sit on our arms eating from the fruit and nuts (or meal worms and insects) provided. The park has several areas of interest with relaxing music playing in some places, live music in others. You are provided with wet suits, vests, snorkeling equipment, open acces for a hot breakfast with a variety of hot entrees, a wides selction of items for lunch, open snacks all day (great for the kids) with frozen lemonade, ice cream treats, chips, pretzels, sodas, beer and other alcoholic options, towels, showers, changing facilities, cabanas, deck chairs, umbrellas. When we arrived, we were greeted persoanlly with a guide who directed us through the initial introduct to the areas, took our pictures for our badges and escorted us into the attraction. The grounds are lovely, spotlessly clean and maincured. I agree, we were initialin swallowing hard about the price but felt like it may be worthwhile.
